Provides various character education, violence and drug prevention for students and families in Bate Middle School or Danville High School. After school and summer programs. Also assists families with referrals to local agencies for clothing, food, medical assistance. etc.

 

Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program                                             (859) 326-6142

24-hour crisis intervention, emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, case management, legal advocacy, children's services, financial literacy, and community education and awareness. Satellite office in Danville serves victims of domestic violence and their dependent families.

 

Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center                           Danville Office              (859) 236-4445

Provides free confidential services to any victim of sexual assault/sexual harassment of their family/friends. BRCC strives to eradicate sexual assault and abuse by promoting individual and community empowerment through education, training and therapeutic healing.

 

Boyle County Health Department                                                     (859) 236-2053

A wide range of medical services including immunizations, TB testing, lead screening. Conducts community education programs on nutrition, prenatal care, family planning, smoking cessation, child care, and other issues. Offers programs and education in the areas of sexual health, including testing for sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy testing, AID prevention, and HIV testing.

Distributes food to those in need of assistance.

Provides outpatient mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse services for adults and children. The Recovery Center is an Intensive Outpatient Program for adults with substance abuse issues.

 

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)                                        (859) 936-3562

CASA (Court APpointed Specia Advocates) provides advocacy services for children who are abused and/or neglected in the Boyle County and Mercer County Family Court System. All of the advocates are trained community volunteers who have a passion for improving the lives of children in their community.

 

Danville-Boyle County Migrant Education Program                           (859) 238-1337

Provides support for migrant children at their schools, assists parents with involvement in the child's school. Refers families for assistance with education (ESL/GED), medical/dental care, eyeglasses, and clothing.

Provides additional food resources to families in need. Clients are welcome to return once every 30 days. Also have a coat collections and distribution program.

 

Housing Authority of Danville                                                                  (859) 236-7548

Provides housing to low-income families in the community. Works collaboratively with other agencies to provide after-school classes and activities.

 

Pregnancy Resource Center of Central Kentucky NIFLA                   (859) 236-9282

Free pregnancy tests with immediate results; 24-hour toll-free hotline staffed by trained volunteers.

 

Special Persons Advocacy Network (SPAN)                                          (859) 236-6061

Provides education and support for developmentally disabled citizens of all ages and their families. Offers recreational and social opportunities and provides funds for respite services. Long term goals include assisting with housing for these individuals in Boyle County.
